RESTAURANTS

CLUB 55 – Uber-chic! Simply the best and coolest place to be seen on the beach! Patrice de Colmont runs the Harry’s Bar/Le Caprice/ Le Cirque of Pamplonne Beach. You will see all the celebs you want to see plus great shopping and newspapers sold to you on your matelas. Great Bloody Marys. Lethal Pina Coladas – you might want to go back for one more but you’ll never make it to the bar!. You MUST book weeks in advance if you are coming to stay in the summer. If you have kids ask for a table in the jardin as its not so cramped. We recommend that you leave for the beach by 10.30am in the summer otherwise you will be stuck in two hours of traffic jams. To get back check out our map for the back way past Johnny Halliday’s house and the Domaine de Rouillieres wine shack where you can buy the most fantastic pink champagne and more …but taste it first if you’re not driving…Tel – 0494 555555

Moorea Plage – The cognescentis’s choice. This is a very cool joint where you can lose your shirt playing chess or backgammon at Claudy’s Bar. Run by the incredibly handsome and golf-mad Christophe who, with his maitre d Bernard, will give you a big welcome and lovely day. GREAT shops and manicure and massage salon….Tel; 0494 971817

Chez Camille – If you want bouillabaisse or grilled fish with a view like the Cornish coast come here. Madam is VERY strict and you must order when you make the reservation. You will be charged for no shows or a change of mind about what you want to eat.

Tahiti Plage – We just LOVE this place with its orange and cream banquettes and fabulous fashion show during lunch….do book….lots of atmosphere with a live-band at the bar. Hysterically funny to watch pompous English men, who have failed to make a reservation, doing the ‘don’t’ you know who I am ‘ routine with the maitre d…..he couldn’t care less….Tel – 0494 971802

Key West – very nice beach restaurant that is open all year round. You must book as it gets very full on a sunny winter’s day. Tel; 0494 798658

Auberge de la Mole - This is the place that presidents and princesses dine. Hidden behind an old petrol pump in the village of La Mole, about 20 minutes away, is this awesome place. A fixed menu of 5 courses. Go hungry. You will be filled up with foie gras, steaks, cheeses and the best chocolate mousse you have ever tasted….not for the faint-hearted or anorexics amongst you.

NIGHTCLUBS

Les Caves du Roy - Book a table and book it early…0494 566800...go before midnight…otherwise you will stand with 200 other saddoes outside the best disco in town..Its loud, glamorous and if you want to see P Diddy THIS is the place to be. You have to buy a 250 euro bottle of vodka/whiskey/gin or champagnes to secure the table but boy! Its worth it at least once on your trip. VIP Room – Much younger crowd…do book. Tel 0494 974606
