Eurostar to Marseilles and then onto Les Arcs, Draguignan on TGV OR from Nice direct to Les Arcs, Draguignan. Quickest trains are from Nice Ville so jump in a taxi and go to the main Nice station.
BE WARNED if you are arriving at Les Arcs, Draguignan, you need to pre-book a taxi to take you to the house as it’s a 35 minute trip and the taxi rank is not reliable.

CAR RENTAL
We recommend that in high season you do not use the big car hire companies at Nice airport because the wait for a car can easily be two hours! NOT funny. Try SIXT, Europcar or any of the European companies that are not Avis or Hertz.

Do NOT park facing against the direction of travel - it's illeagal.
TOLL BOOTHS can automatically tell if you have been speeding by computing the time from the last peage - you can be prosecuted!
ON THE SPOT FINES - Its £100 minimum in cash if you get caught speeding, drink-driving etc which you have to pay on the spot - if you cannot find the cash your vehicle may be impounded.
YOU CAN HAVE YOUR LICENCE TAKEN AWAY - so if you are the sole driver you won't be driving home!
PROVISIONAL driving licences from UK are NOT valid in France.
Take your insurance documents, preferably in french, as you are suppossed to carry these in the car in France.
CAR HEADLIGHTS - should be adjusted to dip to the right - otherwise your car is illeagal in France.
CASH - you will need it for the peage and the gendarme!
PRIORITY is always to the right - even at roundabouts so do be careful.
ALWAYS carry ID - it is illeagal in France not to have ID on you at all times.

WARNING FOR SHOPPERS
A consortium of luxury goods manufacturers - The Comite Colbert which is made up of Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Hermes and Givenchy - have warned visitors to France that anyone caught buying fake goods or in the possession of fake goods on French soil faces fines of £200,000 and three years in jail. Airport staff may 'challenge passengers passing through with designer luggage' and those caught with fakes will be fined.
